MOTIVA Training is delivered in accordance with the MOTIVA Learning Model
In order to ensure adequate participant uptake of knowledge and demonstration of desired skills, MOTIVA has established the following guidelines to be used in the creation of an appropriate learning environment. The training venue should be a room that allows the particpants to concentrate on the discussions and materials. Groups of 4 or 5 should be separated by sufficient walking area for people to move safely and comfortably about the room. These groupings allow the participants to create their own teams, discuss issues in a manner where everyone on the team is heard, and establish small group consensus on the issues under discussion.
MOTIVA Training does not consist of lectures. Large classroom settings and theatre seating do not allow for facilitated discussion - only for lecturing - an approach not conducive to adult learning.
Instead, MOTIVA Training consists of facilitated discussion where the participants learn from each other as much, if not more, than they learn from the training facilitator. Common experiences and shared knowledge form the basis of participant discussion that is the key to adult learning. It is for these reasons, that the following criteria have been established to create an environment where learning can take place.
